Overview
We supply carbon steel long and flat products: reinforcing bar, wire rod and billets, hot-rolled coil, sheet and plate, cold-rolled coil and sheet, galvanised and pre-painted coil, structural and hollow sections, and seamless and welded pipe. Every enquiry is answered against a named standard and grade — BS 4449 B500B or ASTM A615 Grade 60 for rebar, EN 10025-2 S275JR or S355JR for structural steel, EN 10219 S355J2H for cold-formed hollow sections, API 5L Grade B PSL1 for line pipe — together with dimensions, tolerance class and surface condition.
Material is bought from rolling mills and mill-appointed stockists, and each parcel is traceable to a heat number. Mill test certificates to EN 10204:2004 type 3.1 are supplied as standard, giving the heat analysis and mechanical test results certified by the manufacturer's inspection representative independent of the production department; type 3.2, countersigned by an independent inspector or the buyer's representative, is arranged where the project demands it. Third-party inspection at the mill or load port is arranged on request (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or a buyer-nominated surveyor), covering dimensional survey, witnessed mechanical testing, marking verification and weight.
Shipments move in containers or as breakbulk, and the choice is usually set by length and bundle weight rather than by tonnage. Coils are stowed eye-to-sky or eye-to-side according to the vessel's cargo securing manual, on timber cradles with dunnage and lashing to the IMO CSS Code. Cold-rolled, galvanised and pre-painted material is edge-protected and wrapped with VCI paper and moisture-barrier film, because white rust and handling damage, rather than mechanical properties, are what usually cause a claim on flat products.

Reinforcing Bar
Ribbed rebar in straight lengths and coil to ASTM, BS and GB standards, supplied with rolled-in mill marking and bundle tags cross-referenced to the heat number.

- Bundles of about 2 t, steel strapped at three to five points

Wire Rod and Billets
Low and medium carbon wire rod in coil for drawing and mesh, and square billets for re-rolling, both quoted on heat chemistry rather than on grade name alone.

Galvanised and Pre-Painted Coil
Zinc and aluminium-zinc coated coil, and coil-coated pre-painted material, quoted on coating mass, paint system and film thickness rather than on colour alone.

How this division ships, and what travels with the cargo
Packaging & stowage
- Bundle and coil weights are set by the crane capacity and lifting gear at the discharge port, not only by mill practice, so bundle size is confirmed with the buyer before rolling or loading.
- Coils are stowed eye-to-sky or eye-to-side in accordance with the vessel's cargo securing manual and the IMO CSS Code, on timber cradles with dunnage between tiers.
- Cold-rolled, galvanised and pre-painted coil is edge-protected and wrapped in VCI paper and moisture-barrier film with desiccant; ventilated stowage away from moisture sources limits white rust.
- Long products in containers are loaded on skids within the container's floor loading and payload limits; 12 m lengths require open top, flat rack or breakbulk.
- Every bundle, coil and pipe carries a durable tag or stencil showing heat number, standard, grade, size and length, cross-referenced to the mill test certificate and the packing list.
Delivery terms
- FOB — the usual basis for breakbulk parcels loaded on the buyer's nominated vessel at the mill's load port.
- CFR — containerised and breakbulk shipments into GCC, African and South Asian ports, with free time and discharge terms stated in the contract.
- CIF — as CFR with marine cover; Institute Cargo Clauses (C) is the Incoterms 2020 minimum and is often upgraded for coated flat products.
- FAS — where the buyer's vessel or barge lifts cargo from alongside.
- DAP and DPU — delivery to a named yard or site, DPU placing unloading on our account and DAP leaving it with the buyer.
- EXW — ex-stock collection for small quantities and trial lots.
Documentation
- Commercial invoice and packing list showing standard, grade, size, heat number, bundle or coil count and theoretical and actual weight
- Mill test certificate to EN 10204:2004 type 3.1, or type 3.2 countersigned by an independent inspector where specified
- Bill of lading, or charter party bill of lading with the governing charter for breakbulk parcels
- Certificate of origin, attested or legalised where required, with mill and country of melt and pour stated where a trade measure applies
- Third-party inspection report covering dimensional survey, witnessed testing, marking and weight
